Real Life is a Rollercoaster – Brief Update

I know I haven’t posted anything lately or updated my downloads website at all but I have a good reason. At the start of July I was made redundant from my job and have spent most of the month working out the legal technicalities of my agreement as well as job hunting. I do however have good news. I have found a new job which I start this Monday which I am both nervous and excited about.

I also took some time out to celebrate the birthdays of my Fiance and one of my best friends and I saw the Olympic Torch Relay in Uxbridge Town Centre.

The Olympic Torch passed through Uxbridge Town Centre, Middlesex, UK.
It was carried by Munir Azizshalizi, a local taekwondo teacher from Hayes

On the sims side of things I do have two lots that are currently only available on my Simpage (I put everything there before I post it anywhere else) Both have been thoroughly play tested and if anyone is interested here is a preview of them:

Download Details (contains only 2 free store items)

Download Details (contains many store items including some from Lucky Palms)

I have found some time to play and I have, of course, spent some time with Kendra & Clara Magna, the cousins from my Child of the Night story. I will be working on a new chapter soon but for now here’s a sneaky peak picture of the girls:

Looks like some kind of party is happening! 😉

Stay tuned to find out more!

Chapter 12 – Drunk on Power

Clara’s Perspective

A week after I became a vampire I began to tire of eating synthetic blood substitutes.   My cousin Kendra tried to convince me of their merits but I was always left longing for the real thing.
It was then I remembered my encounter with celebrity fitness instructor Moxie Logan not long after I had turned.  She had oozed health and vitality in a way that made me crave her.

I decided to pay her a visit and, to ensure her compliance with my wishes, I used my powers to read her mind and plant a need for me in her consciousness.

Once her attention was focused on me I went on a charm offensive, the politician in me couldn’t help it.

“I just had to seek you out Moxie, I need to get in shape for my campaign and I can’t think of anyone better to train me.”

“Thanks Clara! I’d be happy to put together a plan for you. I really think you are good for this city.”

Flattery and mind control seemed to work in perfect harmony.

I knew that now was the moment to get what I really wanted.

“Excellent! We’ll get to the fitness program later. For now I need something else of yours to improve my health…”

I moved my head towards her wrist preparing to bite.

Moxie seemed unsure but she was also fascinated. I wasted no more time. I sank my teeth in and she yelped in pain. Clearly I needed more practice!

However the pain was forgotten seconds later when the endorphins, stimulated by the bite, kicked in. This was what made many humans into willing blood donors.

The rush of her blood swam in my veins as I licked the last drop from my hand. This was far more pleasurable than eating plasma fruit!

I was overcome with the need to thank Moxie for her “donation”.

Before I could stop myself I placed a kiss on her lips.
To my surprise she accepted it readily.

Overcome with lust and excitement I let her lead me to her bedroom where we made out until tiredness overcame us.

When I woke up alone the next morning I felt a wonderful sense of calm. It was like her blood and touch soothed a longing deep within me. I was ready to take on the world.

Chapter 11 – Clara’s Transformation

Clara’s Perspective

I had been 40 for a week, it was a week too long.
I could feel my time on this planet dripping away whilst my body aged unstoppably.
I hadn’t achieved all I had wanted to at Bridgeport City Hall by this age.
I was desperate to stop the aging process and suddenly knew that the answer had been in front of me all along. My cousin Kendra was a natural-born vampire.

I knew that Kendra had the power to turn others, I’d seen it in action with her ex-boyfriend Notzo Curious back in our home town of Twinbrook. It had backfired with him so I knew that convincing her wouldn’t be simple. But, like I said, I was desperate.
It was time to turn on the waterworks.

“It’s over Kendra!” I wailed, “I’m never going to make it into congress!”

She looked up from the computer where she had been writing her novel for most of the day and grasped me in a hug.

“Calm down cous’ well find a way around whatever it is that you feel is blocking you career-wise.”

I almost felt guilty at this point, Kendra was my best friend in the world but she could also give me the one thing I wanted more than anything.

“it’s not fair!” I mumbled into her shoulder, “I’m 40, by the time my Dad was my age he was being taken seriously as a politician. I should have stayed in Twinbrook. Moving to the city was the stupidest thing, looks matter here just as much as ideas. My PR team told me the latest polls show that the city thinks I’m too old to be in touch with their needs! Damn bunch of ungrateful yuppies.”

Kendra was surprised by my outburst. She backed off and attempted to placate me.

“Oh come on Clara, you’ve always said those polls are joke, that they never ask a wide enough selection of people. Sit down, I’ll make you some dinner.”

Clearly the whining and tears weren’t working it was time to change tactics.

“It’s alright for you,” I shouted, “it will be many years before you start to age. You don’t know how good you’ve got it. I’m becoming a dried up old prune and you still look the same as you did at 21!”

It was the killer blow. I knew Kendra felt sensitive about her condition. The problem with knowing each other so well was that we knew exactly what to say to each other to push each others buttons.  It was awful of me but necessary.

Kendra stormed upstairs to her room. I gave her a few minutes to calm down before following her.

“I’m sorry Kendra, I shouldn’t have lashed out like that. It’s just the older I get the more invisible I feel in public. People don’t look at me the way they used too. I know I’m still a good-looking woman, but I’m no longer young and the population of Bridgeport seems to get younger every year.”

She sighed, clearly uncomfortable with the conversation.
“It’s okay Clara, I get it. I just think maybe it’s time that I got my own place. It hard for you to come home and see me looking the way I do. I get that.”

That was not the outcome I was looking for. I needed her.

“I know how to fix it. I want you to turn me before I get any older.”

Kendra was not at all sure that she wanted to do this. I was relying on her love for me overcoming her hesitation.

My faith and persistence eventually paid off. Kendra couldn’t stand seeing me unhappy.
She took hold of my wrist and sank her teeth in. I felt drunk on the power of that bite.

Kendra’s Perspective

Somehow Clara had talked me into turning her.
It wasn’t something I’d done willingly, as I knew that every person turned with a bite had a 50/50 chance of also receiving a negative personality overhaul.
But I had never seen Clara so desperate, and knowing I was the only one who could solve her problem gave me a delicious taste of power.

Once it was done Clara’s mood lifted immeasurably.

“Thanks so much Cous’ you won’t regret this I swear it. Me and you really will run this town now!”

I hugged her, hoping and praying inside that she was right. I really hoped I wouldn’t regret this the way I regretted turning my childhood sweetheart Notzo.

My nerves were on edge and I needed calming down. There was only one person capable of doing that my sort-of-boyfriend Eb Clavier. I called him and he was more than happy to come straight around.

His smile melted my heart and stopped the adrenalin racing around my body. Yet the fact that he was so pleased to see me again made my heart skip a beat.

Eb could tell that I was upset about something and soon had his arms around me. Nothing in this world could have made me feel happier at that moment.

“Thank you for coming Eb, it means so much to me that you are here. I think I may have done something very stupid today.”

He stroked my hair and held me tighter.
“Whatever it is Kendra, I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think.”

Just for a second I wanted to believe him.

I suddenly felt very tired. The emotional rigor of the day had worn me out.

Eb didn’t ask anything of me, he simply held me close as we slept that night.

The next morning I was determined to make it up to him.

We spent the morning in my room making love over and over again. I really couldn’t get enough of this man.

Even when we finally managed to put on some clothes to say goodbye we couldn’t keep our hands off of each other.

I decided to spend the rest of my day working on my projects.

I utilized my afternoon painting, it was a good sideline that brought in a few pennies from the rich folks that commissioned my services.

I then settled down to concentrate on my novel.

The Girl With Diamond eyes was close to completion and I was excited about submitting it to the publishers. They had read and approved that first few chapters and I finally felt as if my dream of becoming a writer was coming to fruition.

I didn’t move from my computer until Clara returned home from work later that evening.
She looked a little worse for wear. I knew it was the effects of the transformation on her body. She would soon be a full vampire.

With this in mind I decided to go grocery shopping for Plasma Juice and Plasma Fruit. The only kinds of food specially made for vampires like me.

I hoped to train vampire Clara into good habits to stop her from turning evil like Notzo had.

Clara’s Perspective:

After work the next day I wasn’t feeling to good. I decided to take myself off to the hospital for a check up rather than worry Kendra with my hypochondria.

I parked my motorbike and ran to the front desk. I could actually feel my blood burning in my veins, it was disconcerting to say the least.

Just as I reached the front door the feeling within me stalled my movements.

The boiling of my blood abated but I felt the heat shoot out of my eyes and I seemed to be levitating!

Child of the Night: The Kendra Magna Story – Chapter 10

Kendra’s Perspective:

A week after we met I was thrilled to get a phone call from Ebenezer Clavier.  Ever since I bumped into him outside the publishers I had thought about little else.

Eb, as he liked to be called, asked me on a sunset date to a funky fusion bar in Bridgeport city.  The fact that he was sensitive enough of my vampiric condition to suggest a late time of day endeared him to me even more.

I left a note for my cousin and house mate Clara, who was working late at city hall, got ready and left the apartment giddy with excitement.

Eb met me outside the bar.

“I’m so glad you came Kendra,” he grinned at me “I got here early and the wait seemed forever but now you are here I know it was worth it.”

“Thanks,” I blushed, “Shall we get a drink?”

We went inside and bought two Kyoto My Heart cocktails.

I was impressed that he was man enough not to be phased by the very feminine drink. The effect of the alcohol was instant, it made us both relax a bit more in each other’s company. After a few more drinks and relaxed conversation we decided to go outside for some privacy.

Ever since I had become a fully fledged vampire at the age of 21 I had developed a fascination with the night sky as it was the view I saw most often.

Eb listened in fascination as I pointed out the Orion Constellation and explained the mythological stories attached to it.  When I finished talking he pulled me to my feet and into his embrace.

After kissing me so hard that I felt my pulse begin to race, he pulled back and looked me straight in the eyes.

“Kendra Magna, you are a fascinating woman, would you let me escort you home?”

“Yes of course.” I replied breathlessly. I did not want this night to end.

Once we reached my apartment building I asked Eb if he wanted to come up for coffee. I know it’s a cliché but I was feeling too shy to say what I really wanted.

However once we got in the lift I wasn’t afraid to show him:

Child of the Night: The Kendra Magna Story – Chapter 9

The day after we moved into the penthouse apartment in Bridgeport, my cousin Clara put her networking skills to use.

While I sipped on some plasma juice, which was abundantly available in the city, she was on the phone to City Hall checking the plans for her first day working for the local council.

I sometimes envied her ambition and drive to succeed.  I had yet to get my career as an author off the ground. I just hoped the city would aid me with this as Clara believed that it would.

It wasn’t long before the carpool turned up to take Clara to her new job. I waved her goodbye at the door and wished her luck although I didn’t think she needed it.

Unknown to me, Clara was actually very nervous. The council in the city was much bigger and more important than that of rural Twinbrook where we came from.

She hoped that they would welcome her ideas and not laugh her out of the building.

The building itself was very imposing. It was at least twice the size of Twinbrook Town Hall  and was topped by a large copper plated dome.

When she finished her first day I decided that we should hit the town to celebrate her new job and make the most of our new urban life.

We spent a good couple of hours getting ready, we were determined to look glamorous and fit in with the cool city crowd.

We decided to try out a trendy bubble bar at a club called Aquarius. Breathing in the fruit scented bubbles made us both feel light-headed and giggly.

High on bubbles we felt less inhibited and decided to try out the rooftop dance-floor.

The view over the city was breathtaking. It was hard to believe that we now lived in such an incredible and vibrant place.

The next morning whilst I slept in, Clara somehow got herself out of bed by 6am. She made herself some breakfast and quietly left the apartment long before I rose.

When I finally managed to move myself from the comfort of my bed I decided to head down to a local publishers with samples of my work. Outside the grand building I felt hopeful as I saw titles from some of my own favourite authors in the display windows.

I dropped off my work with the receptionist and prayed it would make it onto a publishers desk. Then I wondered back out into the city dreaming of the day I’d see my own name in those windows.

I was so lost in my reverie that I almost bumped into a smartly dressed man walking towards me.

Child of the Night: The Kendra Magna Story – Chapter 8

A few days had passed since I’d agreed to turn Notzo into a vampire.
The effects of the change were not agreeing with him and he was often seen hugging the toilet bowl.

However at the end of that week his body seemed prepared to complete the change even if he wasn’t quite ready for it mentally.  It was an unnerving experience for him as he felt his blood boil in his veins.

Before he had time to understand what was happening the change took a deep hold of him and red light shone from his eyes as the transformation completed.

Now that he was a vampire, my childhood sweetheart would be like me and with me forever!

That evening we paid a visit to my mother Lucinda to break the news.
Ever since my cousin Clara’s parents had passed away I’d been making sure I spent a lot of time with my own Mum. Their deaths had brought home to me just how short and fragile human life was. Every hug I had with my Mum I cherished.

Notzo leaned in for what looked like a playful kiss of my Mum’s hand.
I giggled but the smile was soon wiped from my face.
